Plainville High School has a new principal

Carl Johnson, former assistant principal at Plainville High School, has been named principal, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.

Johnson replaces Roberto Medic. PHS Athletics Director Chris Farrell will serve as interim assistant principal at the high school until a permanent replacement is named.

Johnson began as assistant principal at Plainville High School in July 2016. Prior to that, he was a social studies teacher at Farmington High School.

During his tenure at Farmington High School, he was also a social studies teacher, in the Farmington Alternative High School program, from 2007-2010. He also served as the Farmington High School student activities director, and coached lacrosse and football from 2004-2014.  

Johnson holds a 6th Year Diploma in professional education as well as a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in education from the University of Connecticut.
