PLAINVILLE — A vigil is being held Saturday at Plainville High School for a former student who died last weekend and was found near bleachers at the school.

“We wanted to do something for her,” said Jillian Arduini, who was a classmate of the woman, Danielle Wells, at Plainville High School in the early 2000s.

Those who wish to remember Wells can attend the vigil Saturday at 8 p.m. near the high school bleachers. Mourners are asked to bring their own candles if possible, although a limited number will be available for $1 each, with the proceeds going to support Wells’ mother as she assumes care of one of Wells’ four children.

A Go Fund Me page to help Wells’ family was also created by Arduini and a group of other women, including Rhanda Gaudio, Holly Rioux-Kline, Jennifer Smith, Elisha Sutton and Heather Saleh. Within two days, the page had raised nearly $400.

“This will be our way of kind of mourning her all together,” Arduini said.

Police have said they don’t suspect foul play in Wells’ death.
