Emergency crews respond to a report of an injured hiker on Ragged Mountain in Southington



SOUTHINGTON – Emergency crews responded to a report of an injured hiker on Ragged Mountain in Southington.

As of approximately 6:45, first responders had reached the hiker and were escorting him and the group of hikers he was with down the mountain and they were reportedly out of the woods at around 7:00 p.m. One individual was transported to New Britain General Hospital.

Police received a call at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday of a 23-year-old male hiker on Ragged Mountain with an injured ankle. He was reportedly north of Wassel Resevoir with a group of hikers.

Berlin Police also reportedly responded to the scene to allow Southington use of an all-terrain vehicle.

No further details were available at this time.
