BACKGROUND: The Board of Finance last month unanimously approved a budget of $95,312,329 for the Board of Education and a general government budget of $53.3 million. The Town Council must approve a final budget by May 14.
School Superintendent Timothy Connellan had sought a $97.3 million, an increase of about $3 million from the current year. In January, the school board approved a $96.8 million education spending plan.
