SOUTHINGTON — Pizzas crafted from dough made on premises and garlic bread grinders are on the menu at a new pizzeria.
“The dough and the sauce is the most important,” said Alex Koutouvides, owner of Max Pizza 6 with his brother, Stelios Koutouvides, and Charles VanBevern.
The new location, which opened in early February, is the sixth in a chain the trio owns, all clustered in Bristol, New Britain, Newington and Burlington. It is located in a storefront formerly occupied by Lorenzo’s Restaurant and Plantsville Pizza.
The menu includes a breakfast pizza, topped with bacon, eggs and ham and the pancho pizza, with meat sauce, taco chips and mayo. Koutouvides’ own favorite is the greek pizza, with tomatoes, olives, feta and mozzarella cheese.
An official grand opening was held last week.
“For me, they make the best dinners,” said Plainville resident Walter Zarzycki, as he started on a chicken noodle soup.
