SOUTHINGTON — A Middletown man has been charged with robbing a Route 322 convenience store in September.
Shawn Mullaly, 43, was charged on Friday with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny. He was incarcerated at the time of his arrest and was held on $150,000 bond.
On Sept. 4 just before midnight, police responded to Henny Penny, 273 Meriden Waterbury Tpke. A man armed with a long knife entered the store with a blue bandana covering his face, ordered a clerk to open a register, and stole about $150 and about five packs of cigarettes, Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said.
Several nearby towns and cities experienced similar incidents, and Southington police identified the man as Mullaly with assistance from other area agencies, Dobratz said.
On Sept. 10, Mullaly was charged in a separate robbery at 960 Meriden-Waterbury Tpke.
