SOUTHINGTON — A Bristol man faces charges after police said he assaulted a woman earlier this month during a reported domestic dispute.
Joshua Werner, 41, of 1204 Stafford Ave., Bristol, was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct.
On Sept. 2, police responded to a home on Beecher Street for a report of a domestic dispute. Police investigated and determined Werner was arguing with a woman when he put one hand around her throat and the other over her face until she could not breathe, police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said. When another person entered the room, Werner fled.
Werner was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on Tuesday. The judge set bond at $100,000 and continued the case to Oct. 18.
