Southington police: Man pushed neighbor's car into road after dispute

SOUTHINGTON — A local man faces charges after police said he tampered with and pushed his neighbor’s car into the road following a parking dispute.

Thomas Taricani, Jr., 48, of 150 Bristol St., was charged Aug. 30 with tampering with a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.

On Aug. 30, Taricani was involved in a dispute with a neighbor about parking in a shared driveway, police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said. Taricani reportedly tampered with the transmission cable on the neighbor’s vehicle and pushed the car onto Bristol Street, where it partially blocked traffic.

Taricani was taken into custody and later released on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Monday.
