SOUTHINGTON — A local teen faces charges after police said he supplied a 16-year-old with alcohol and sexually assaulted her in a car.
Dilan Howard, 19, of 224 Lawncrest Dr., was charged Monday with second-degree sexual assault and providing liquor to a minor.
In June 2017, a 16-year-old reported Howard kept passing her a water bottle containing rum at a party, according to the warrant charging Howard with providing liquor to a minor.
The teen told police she “blacked out” after drinking around 10 ounces of rum in an hour, the warrant said. When she woke up in the backseat of a car, Howard told her they had sex, the warrant said. Police spoke with witnesses who corroborated her account.
The warrant charging Howard with sexual assault was sealed by the court.
Howard was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on Monday. According to statements in court, he has no criminal history. The judge entered a protective order barring Howard from any contact with the teen and set bond at $5,500. His next court date is March 28.
