Southington police: Bristol man stomped on man’s head during fight



 

SOUTHINGTON — A Bristol man has been charged after police said he knocked a man unconscious and stomped his head while he was on the ground.

Landin Rutledge, 21, of 16 Union St., Bristol, was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault. He was held on $100,000 bond.

On Aug. 19 about 2 a.m., police responded to the municipal parking lot in the town center for a report of a fight. A man, later identified as Rutledge, punched a man in the head during a dispute, knocking him unconscious, Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said. While the man was on the ground, Rutledge reportedly stomped on the man’s head.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious head injuries, Dobratz said.
