SOUTHINGTON — A local man has been charged after police said they found him in illegal possession of a firearm while they were investigating a domestic dispute.
Michael Walcott, 44, of 995 Flanders Road, was charged Wednesday with criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree threatening, and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $200,000.
Police responded to his Flanders Road residence about 7:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute. After investigating, police learned Walcott allegedly threatened to kill someone while they slept, Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said in a statement.
Officers also found a gun in the home. Walcott is prohibited from possessing a gun due to previous felony convictions, Dobratz said.
