SOUTHINGTON — A man faces charges after police say he caused more than $6,000 worth of damage to an apartment he was renting.

Jamil Said, 28, of 120 Willow St., New Britain, was charged on Dec. 21 with first-degree damage to a landlord’s property. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.

In March 2015, Said reportedly damaged sheetrock, two televisions, a computer, a gas heater, a microwave and a laminate kitchen countertop in an apartment he was renting, according to police spokesman Lt. Stephen Elliott.

The total damage was estimated at more $6,000.
