Two hospitalized following motor vehicle collision on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike Wednesday evening

SOUTHINGTON – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Old Mountain Road and Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. Two people were transported to area hospitals. Information on their conditions was not available. A third person declined treatment.

Police Sgt. Jeff Dobratz said a Mitsubishi Eclipse turning east on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike off Old Mountain Road collided with another vehicle traveling west.

The road was closed for around 90 minutes while authorities investigated.
