Southington police: Local woman drove under the influence with teenager in car

SOUTHINGTON — A local woman has been charged after police said she drove under the influence with a teenager in the car.

Jenessa Ives, 33, of 159 W. Center St., was charged on July 3 with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and risk of injury to a minor. She was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on July 16.

Lt. Stephen Elliott said police received a report about a car traveling erratically, and the driver, later identified as Ives, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Elliott said police located Ives and the car and determined she was intoxicated. A 15-year-old was in the car at the time of the incident.
