Access Health Connecticut’s offices will be closed for Thanksgiving, but will reopen Friday for the final three weeks of the open enrollment period.

Access Health’s call center will resume operations beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, while its seven enrollment centers will resume  operations during normal business hours the same day.

The open enrollment period to purchase health insurance through Access Health, the state’s marketplace for individual policies at federally subsidized rates, began on Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 15. Health insurance purchased during this period will begin Jan. 1.

“The most important message for Connecticut residents is that we are here to help—and it’s key to start the process as early as you can,” Access Health CEO James Michel said in a statement at the start of the open enrollment period.

He also said Access Health is “making it easier for customers” by allowing them to compare policies by taking into account their doctors, prescribed medicines, and health needs with a “Compare Plans” function on the exchange’s website.

Access Health is also offering free advice via the call center, at its seven enrollment facilities, and during enrollment fairs.

Enrollment center locations include 2 Howe St., New Haven; 19 Chesnut St., New Britain; 20 South Main St., Waterbury; and in Danbury, East Hartford, Groton, and Stamford.

Access Health also has three enrollment fairs still scheduled during the open enrollment period: Dec. 1 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport; Dec. 8 at Waterbury Hospital; and Dec. 15 at Jonathan Law High School in Milford.

All enrollment fairs run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ride share company Lyft is offering 20-percent discounts to residents using its service to get to or from an enrollment center of fair.

“We understand that transportation can be a barrier for people who are looking for in-person help to shop, compare and enroll in health insurance,” Access Health Director of Marketing Andrea Ravitz said in a statement.

To get the price break, users need to give a discount code to drivers. The discount code is the city of the enrollment center or fair, followed by the letters “OE.”

So for those going to the New Britain enrollment center, the discount code is “NEWBRITAINOE”, while those going to the Bridgeport fair need the code “BRIDGEPORTOE” to save 20 percent.
