Meriden, Wallingford, Southington and Cheshire public schools will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday.
Highland Elementary School is closed today due to water damage from frozen pipes, according to the school district’s website. No other information about the damage was immediately available.
Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to rise into the 20s after wind chills on Monday were forecast to be 25 degrees below zero, according to Gary Lessor, meteorologist with the Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University.
The area saw about 3 inches of snow Saturday night and Sunday morning. Meriden had about half an inch of ice accumulation.
