FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Police say a 9-year-old child was critically injured in a head-on traffic crash that also sent three other people to the hospital.
Farmington police say one of the two vehicles involved in the crash on Route 177 at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday appears to have drifted across the centerline.
A 9-year-old girl was airlifted to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.
Three other victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals with serious injuries.
No names were released.
The cause remains under investigation although police say alcohol does not appear to have played a role.
Police are asking witnesses to contact them.
