Emergency crews still responding to fallen trees, wires from Sunday’s storm

After Sunday’s storm, utility crews have responded to a full day of outages and trees down in the area.

There are two roads still closed in Wallingford and Southington, awaiting utility response, according to the towns’ police. In Wallingford, Long Hill Road, by Mary Ann Lane, has been closed since at least 5:30 p.m. with wires down, according to police. In Southington, Cook Hill is still closed due to fallen wires.

The number of outages has steadily decreased in the last few hours, leaving Meriden with 180 in the dark, Cheshire with 330 and Southington with 270, according to Eversource.
