NORTH HAVEN — A man faces charges after police said he displayed a handgun during a dispute at a local hotel bar on Sunday night.

Matthew Sheltra was charged with carrying a firearm under the influence, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. Information on his age and address was not available.

On Sunday about 9:15 p.m., police responded to Harry’s Sports Grill, 201 Washington Ave. (Route 5), for a report of a man with a gun. A dispute occurred in the bar between two patrons and then continued outside the bar, police said. Sheltra reportedly displayed a handgun while yelling at a woman. Police said they found Sheltra in possession of a loaded 9mm Glock pistol, which authorities  seized.

Harry’s is located in the Best Western Plus hotel.
