Police: 5 women ganged up to assault, rob pedestrian



 

WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut have arrested five women in connection with the assault and robbery of a pedestrian.

Woodbridge police say the victim was walking Tuesday morning when a vehicle with five women inside stopped, three of the women got out, assaulted the victim, stole her purse and other personal items, before getting back in the vehicle and driving off.

The victim contacted police and provided investigators with descriptions of her attackers and their vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle, recovered the victim’s property, and arrested five women on assault and robbery charges.

The suspects, all between the ages of 18 and 34, were from Waterbury and Ansonia. They are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
