Police: Driver strikes bicyclist, then school bus



HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut have apprehended a driver they say struck a bicyclist then crashed into the back of a school bus while trying to flee.

The bicyclist suffered injuries in the crash which occurred in Hartford at about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was wearing a helmet.

Police say two teenage students who were on the bus were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, whose name has not been made public, tried to flee on foot after hitting the school bus, but was apprehended by police.

Police say the woman lost a show while fleeing about three blocks. No charges have been announced.
