Two storms forecast in the coming days will leave behind single-digit temperatures early next week, meteorologists say.

Light snow is expected from Thursday night into Friday morning, according to Gary Lessor, meteorologist with the Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University. Between 1 and 2 inches of accumulation is expected.

Snow and sleet is forecast in a separate storm on Saturday night. Precipitation will transition to freezing rain and eventually steady rain by Sunday morning, and between 2 and 4 inches of accumulation is forecast. Rain will be heavy at times on Sunday and winds could gust up to 30 mph.

Single-digit temperatures are expected Monday, and seasonal temperatures are forecast to return later in the week.
