There are plenty of ways to ring in the holiday month this weekend with several events around town.
In Berlin, the 33rd annual Tinsel Fun Run hosted by the YMCA and Berlin Parks and Recreation Department will be held Saturday at Berlin High School on Patterson Way. Race-day registration will start at 9 a.m., with a $20 fee.
The 2-mile race begins at 11 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the 12 age category divisions. A top finisher award will be given to two Berlin male and female racers.
Racers who participate in costume will be registered to win a gift card. Refreshments will be provided after the race.

Santa will be busy Saturday as the Kensington Fire Rescue Santa Express begins its month-long visits around town in a Christmas-theme fire truck.
Pets can get in on the Santa fun with a photo opportunity Saturday at 10 a.m. at A.S Labieniec Pet Supply store on Farmington Avenue. Christmas activities start at 9 a.m., and go until 3 p.m.
Santa will also making an appearance at Good Cause Gifts on Main Street, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In Plainville, the 5th annual Christmas light display on Hillscrest Road will turn on for the month Saturday starting at 6 p.m. with a visit from Santa and hot cocoa. The show will continue Sunday to Thursday 6 p.m., until 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The lights turn off Jan. 6, at 10 p.m.
Food and toy donations to benefit the Plainville Food Pantry are encouraged.
The annual Breakfast with Santa will be Sunday at the fire house on West Main Street from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Families can enjoy a visit with Santa and a full breakfast hosted by the Plainville Fire Company.
