Police investigating Saturday morning wrong-way crash on Berlin Turnpike

BERLIN — Police are investigating a wrong-way crash on the Berlin Turnpike early Saturday morning that seriously injured three people.

The crash occurred about 3 a.m. when a driver was traveling north in the turnpike’s southbound lanes near the entrance to Sage Park, police said in a statement. A section of the Berlin Turnpike was closed at Middletown Road while authorities investigated.

Three people were taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
