North Haven Town Hall to display historic photos of Pratt & Whitney

NORTH HAVEN — A local man has donated a collection of historic Pratt & Whitney photos to the North Haven Historical Society.

Prints of the photos are slated to be displayed in Town Hall.

Bill Richards, a retired Pratt & Whitney employee, donated the photos over the summer. They include 360-degree aerial views of  the company’s softball fields in the 1950s.

Prints of some of the photos are being matted and framed in preparation for display in Town Hall.

First Selectman Michael Freda said Richards approached him and said he came across the photos in pristine condition.

“We immediately took a great interest in this,” Freda said.

An unveiling event will take place once the photos are back from the framers.
