Regional School District 13 offers a play-based screening for children ages 3 and 4. The screening allows parents the opportunity to have their child observed by district professionals in an informal, fun setting to ensure their child’s development is progressing at an age-appropriate level. Participation is also a pre-requisite for a child to be considered as a role model for the preschool program.
Screenings are scheduled for Friday, April 27, 9 and 11 a.m., in the preschool rooms at Brewster Elementary School. All district four-year-olds and children turning 3 by Aug. 29 are welcome.
Parental permission and involvement are requirements in the screening. However, it is important for children to separate from their parents during the screening so that the team can get an accurate assessment. Parents will complete a questionnaire prior to the screening and have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns about their children with the school psychologist during the screening.
