Coginchaug Valley Education Foundation will hold a new fundraiser at the end of the month, called Fireside Tastings and Treasures

The event will take place at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort, 99 Powder Hill Road, on Saturday, March 30, from 7 to 10 p.m.

"It's going to be a wonderful night – friends, a roaring fire, a jazz guitar duo, wine and craft beer tastings, a Harvest table to enjoy, antiques and collectibles appraisers on hand,” said CVEF president Nancy Earls.

People can have antiques and collectibles appraised during the event by two experts on hand, David Perrelli and Gay Sherman.

Sherman, owner of online vintage shops, including Vintage Under the Sea on Etsy and Ruby Lane, has several “celebrity clients” and has provided vintage jewelry for the AMC show Mad Men. Sherman will be available to appraise jewelry, glass, collectibles, clothing and accessories.

Owner of Old Beautiful in Clinton, Perrelli will be appraising American and continental furniture, glass, ceramics, artwork, silver and metal objects, woodware and textiles. Perrelli is also a host of Antiques Trail on iCRV.

Tickets for Fireside Tastings and Treasures are $45, which includes appraisal of one item and four beer or wine tastings, and hors d’oeuvres.

All proceeds will go towards funding the organization’s annual community grants in Middlefield and Durham. CVEF, which celebrated 10 years in 2018, has given out more than 85 grants, totaling over $100,000.
