Wallingford police: 17-year-old found with stolen credit cards in stolen car

WALLINGFORD — A Wolcott teen faces charges after police said he was found with stolen credit cards while driving a stolen SUV early Monday.

The teenager, who police said is 17 years old, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree larceny and credit card theft. His name was not released.

An officer pulled over a 2010 Ford Edge traveling on North Colony Road by Neal Road around 12:50 a.m. and learned the vehicle was reported stolen from Manchester on Sunday, said police spokeswoman Lt. Cheryl Bradley.

Officers discovered the teenage driver was in possession of two stolen credit cards, one of which belonged to the owner of the Ford, Bradley said. Two juvenile passengers in the Ford were released without charges.

The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in Rockville Juvenile Court on Sept. 19.
