WALLINGFORD — A Westport man faces charges after police reportedly found him with cocaine, drug paraphernalia and an open bottle of vodka during a traffic stop.

Emil Stuck, 28, of 148 Greens Farms Road, Westport, was charged Sunday with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, no insurance, driving with a suspended license and traveling too fast.

Stuck was pulled over by an officer around 9:30 p.m. for traveling 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on Ward Street, according to a police report. The officer noticed he had an odor of alcohol on his breath. Police searched the car and found about a gram and a half of crack cocaine, an open bottle of vodka and drug paraphernalia.

During field sobriety tests Stuck gave “several clues of operating under the influence,” the report said. When questioned, he said he had taken prescription medication and consumed vodka earlier in the day.

Stuck was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Monday. Bond was set at $1,000 and he is due back in court on Feb. 26.
