Branford man charged with selling oxycodone in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — A Branford man faces charges after police said he sold oxycodone to a “cooperating witness” in April.

James Semrau, 27, of 87 Florence Road, Branford was charged Wednesday with sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics.

In April, Wallingford police received information that Semrau was selling prescription opioid pills in town and officers set up a controlled purchase with a cooperating witness, according to Semrau’s arrest warrant.

The witness purchased oxycodone from Semrau in a public location as officers maintained surveillance, the warrant said.

Semrau was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Thursday and released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 13.
