Meriden woman charged with assaulting 71-year-old in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — A Meriden woman faces charges after police said she assaulted a 71-year-old woman last month.

Stacy Burdacki, 38, of 158 Natchaug Drive, Meriden, was charged Wednesday with third-degree assault on an elderly person and second-degree breach of peace.

On Aug. 4, a 71-year-old woman reported that Burdacki, her son’s girlfriend, entered her Apple Street home and started throwing clothing on the floor, according to Burdacki’s arrest warrant.

The woman asked her to leave and Burdacki yelled at the woman’s granddaughters. When the 71-year-old stepped between them, Burdacki slapped her across the face, the warrant said. Burdacki then pushed the woman, causing her to fall.

Burdacki refused to speak with police about the incident, the warrant said. She was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Wednesday and was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 3.
