Police: New York man driving stolen car with flat tire steals rim, tire off car in Wallingford hotel lot



WALLINGFORD — A New York man faces charges after police said he was driving a stolen vehicle, got a flat tire and stole a new tire and rim from a vehicle parked at a local hotel. 

Rashid Buie, 21, of 1400 East New York Ave., Brooklyn, New York, was charged Friday with third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and criminal trover.

Buie pulled into the Courtyard Marriott on Route 68 and stole a rim and tire from another car in the parking lot at about 8:25 p.m., according to a police report. Police also determined the car he was driving was stolen. He was taken into custody and later released on $10,000 bond.

Buie is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 15.
