WALLINGFORD — This year marks 38 years of Wallingford Community Dinners sharing food and company during the holidays.
The traditional Easter ham dinner is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational Church, 23 S. Main St.
Wallingford Community Dinners serves Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals in the tradition of founder Nancy Freyberg, who has since moved to North Carolina.
More than 50 volunteers work to provide the meal, including delivery to homebound residents,
Local businesses that have made donations to the dinners include Alyssa’s Cakery, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mozzicato’s Bakery, Mr. D’s Bakery, Neil’s Donuts, Stop and Shop Bakery, Sweet Cioccolatta and Zandri’s Stillwood Inn.
Community organizations that have contributed include the First Congregational Church’s board community and world service, Our Lady of Fatima middle school religious class, Wallingford Elks Club and Wallingford Rotary Club/Liberty Bank Foundation.
