WALLINGFORD — Wallingford-based Edible Arrangements has announced plans to open a second headquarters in Atlanta.
Edible Arrangements CEO Tariq Farid said in a press release Thursday that the company’s existing corporate headquarters, at 95 Barnes Road in Wallingford, “will continue to serve as its home base,” while the Atlanta offices will “provide Edible with expanded franchise and retail resources.”
“Atlanta’s more central location and access to major transportation hubs makes it an attractive location to base much of the team needed to support the company’s next phase of growth into new markets and product categories,” the release stated.
The company, which sells fruit bouquet arrangements, was founded by Farid in Connecticut in 1999 and has over 1,300 locations in 11 countries.
Edible Arrangements is reviewing potential locations in Atlanta and says it plans to add 200 workers over time.
The franchise recently surpassed Subway as the top Connecticut-based franchise on Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchise 500 list. The comapny placed 53rd on the magazine’s list, which grades national franchises based on a proprietary formula that includes brand strength, size and growth, and financial strength and stability. Edible Arrangements also made Entrepreneur’s list of the 100 fastest growing franchises this year.
