WALLINGFORD — A 31-year-old local man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a car on Old Colony Road Friday night.

The crash occurred about 6 p.m. in the area of 1219 Old Colony Road.

Kamil Wolanowski, 31, of Wallingford suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital. Lt. Anthony DeMaio said Monday he remains in critical condition.

Wolanowski was crossing Old Colony Road when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Stephen Fellegy, 69, of Wallingford. He suffered a severe head injury and was found unresponsive.

The road was well lit and weather conditions did not factor into the incident, police said.

DeMaio said the investigation is ongoing and Fellegy is cooperating with police. No charges had been filed as of Monday.

Old Colony Road was closed for several hours Friday night while police were on scene.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact Officer Christian Evans at 203-294-2819 or DeMaio at 203-294-2838.
