WALLINGFORD — The police department announced the addition of several stop signs in the area of North Main Street and High Street.
A four-way stop was created at the intersection of North Main and High streets with the addition of two new stop signs posted on North Main Street, according to a statement from Lt. Anthony DeMaio. The change will affect north and southbound traffic as it approaches High Street.
An additional stop sign will be posted on North Elm Street as it approaches High Street, affecting northbound traffic and creating a three-way stop at the intersection.
“These changes have been initiated in the interest of public safety and to facilitate improved traffic flow at these locations,” DeMaio said in the statement.
