WALLINGFORD — A Cheshire man faces charges after police say he messaged a woman he was barred from contacting under a protective order. When questioned by authorities, the man reportedly said he was going to kill the woman in a murder-suicide.

Derrick Griewek, 45, of 510 Cornwall Ave., Cheshire, was charged with violation of a protective order. His bond was set at $250,000.

Between Dec. 8 and Dec. 28, 2017, a man, later identified as Griewek, messaged a woman multiple times despite a full no-contact order, according to police.

When questioned about the messages, Griewek told officers he was going to go to the woman’s house and kill her in a murder-suicide, police said.
