WALLINGFORD — A town man faces charges after police said he was found selling cocaine outside his home on Washington Street.

Manuel “Manny” Goncalves, 54, of 100 Washington St., second floor, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell.

Police say Goncalves was suspected of selling cocaine in town and detectives obtained a warrant to search Goncalves and his residence as a result of the investigation. On Jan. 18, detectives observed Govcalves conducting a drug transaction outside his residence and he was taken into custody. Goncalves was found to be in possession of 11 bags of cocaine packaged for sales, as well as cash. Police also found an additional bag of cocaine inside his residence.

Wallingford Police Department’s K9 Tate assisted with the search. Goncalves was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 1.
