WALLINGFORD — Police say trains traveling through town were temporarily stopped after a car got stuck on the tracks downtown Thursday night.

Police were dispatched to the area of Quinnipiac Street for reports of a car stuck on the railroad tracks around 8:45 p.m. The driver claimed she was following GPS directions when the directions took her on the tracks, causing the vehicle’s tires to slow and get stuck.

The car was towed off the tracks by 9:15 p.m. No one was injured.
