Wallingford man who reportedly fled crash scene charged with DUI

WALLINGFORD — A local man faces a DUI charge after police said he fled the scene of a crash last week.

Gerald Natlo, 62, of 5a Algonquin Drive., was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility of physical injury, and driving too close.

On Thursday about 10 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of North Plains Industrial Road and North Plains Highway. A short time later they found one of the cars involved in the crash at a nearby business with Natlo behind the wheel, according to a police report.

When officers spoke with Natlo, they noticed an odor of alcohol on his breath, the report said. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Natlo’s bond was set at $3,000. He is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 28.
