WALLINGFORD — All public schools will dismiss students two hours early on Thursday, according to Superintendent of Schools Salvatore Menzo.

“While the health and well-being of all students and staff are very important to us, we also know that any changes in schedules impact families. We appreciate your support,” Menzo said in a statement to parents Wednesday.

After school activities are cancelled, including middle school sports and the YMCA afterschool program. Modified schedules may be held for high school athletic practices and marching band rehearsals.

This Thursday will mark the third day Wallingford schools have closed early since the school year began last Monday. Last week’s Wednesday and Thursday early dismissals were due to extreme heat.
