Taxes in Meriden

As reported in this newspaper, Durham and most recently, Middlefield have both LOWERED, that's right lowered their mill rates. Can Meriden be far behind? I`m sorry, I was just trying to be funny. Meriden will never lower its mill rate as long as we keep electing people who insist on spending us out of town.

Wallingford Workcamp

I wanted to express my appreciation for Bailey Wright's recent story on Wallingford Workcamp 2018, which is a mission trip to our region July 8-14. The project's goal is to offer free repair to over 60 homes of owners in need. The project, which partners First Congregational Church with non-profit Group Mission Trips, was given a thorough and accurate description by Bailey, and the Workcamp committee is thankful for such comprehensive work! We are also excited about bringing 400-plus workers to camp at Sheehan High and the sense of achievement our project offers them as well as the opportunities presented to homeowners. For those who would like to apply for home repair, please look for information at the Wallingford library, senior center or area businesses, or call Workcamp committee director Lorraine Westervelt at (203) 265-0693. If you would like to offer a donation, please visit our GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/wallingfordworkcamp,
