TUESDAY LACROSSE: Southington surges past Farmington; Cheshire deals Guilford first defeat

FARMINGTON — The Southington girls lacrosse team overcame a two-goal deficit at the half to turn the tables on host Farmington in a 17-11 CCC contest on the road Tuesday.

Talie Richardson paced the Blue Knights (6-2) with four goals. Amy Chudy and Kate Barner each added a hat trick and an assist apiece.

Kayli Garcia and Taylor Borla each had two goals. Sarah Mafale and Emma Doran scored one apiece.

Mackenzie Brown stoned 12 shots between the pipes for Southington.

Cheshire 16, Guilford 13: The Rams handed the visiting Indians (6-1) their first loss of the season while improving to 7-1 with the victory at Alumni Field.

Annie Eddy cranked out eight goals for Cheshire and Raegan Bailey whistled home five.

Annie Acquavita, Sophie Cremo and Megan Daly also found the back of the net for the Rams. Sophie Kurtz collected 10 saves.
