WALLINGFORD — Sheehan football coach John Ferrazzi has been named Coach of the Year by the Casey O’Brien-New Haven County Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

The chapter will honor Ferrazzi at its annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet next Friday, March 29 at Fantasia in North Haven.

In announcing Ferrazzi’s selection, Bill O’Brien of the New Haven Chapter cited Sheehan’s 25-8 record over the past three years. During that span, the Titans won three straight SCC Tier 3 titles, sported a state-record-breaking running back in Zach Davis (2016) and went to two straight CIAC Class M tournaments (2017-2018).

The 2018 team finished 10-2 and reached the Class M state semifinals. Ferrazzi, Sheehan’s head coach since 2005, now has a career record of 69-75-2.

Doors for next Friday’s banquet open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50. To purchase, send a check payable to the National Football Foundation to Donna Limone, 10 Ludlow Court, Branford, 06405.
