CIAC DIVING: Sheehan’s Buehler makes it a triple crown … with a twist

PLAINVILLE — Sheehan diver Andrew Buehler won his third class championship in as many years Tuesday night, piling up 441 points to win the Class S crown at Plainville High School.

Buehler needed all of those points to fend off runner-up Justin Corres of Brookfield (425.40). Marcas Racevicius of Holy Cross was third at 371.30.

Buehler’s Sheehan teammate, Valerie Nicholson, was eighth at 300.50

Buehler, a junior, won Class M his freshman year and Class S last winter as a sophomore. He now advances to this third State Open, which Bulkeley hosts next Thursday,  March 15.
