Clarissa M. F. Grabiec and Cameron B. Clegg were married on Saturday, July 25, 2015, on the West Coast in an intimate ceremony at the Bagish Overlook, Santa Barbara, Calif., with Dr. Dennis O. Clegg officiating, immediately followed by a reception at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.
On Jan. 2, 2016, the newlyweds celebrated their nuptials on the East Coast at the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Angela Grabiec, of Meriden. She is the granddaughter of Frances Grabiec.
The groom is the son of Dr. Dennis O. Clegg and Dr. Teresa L. Burgess, of Ventura, Calif. He is the grandson of Frances Burgess and Doris Clegg.
Clarissa is a 2000 graduate of Platt High School. In 2004, she received her bachelor’s degree in English from Central Connecticut State University. In 2008, she earned her teaching certification through the Department of Higher Education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in English and creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University. She is employed as a high school English teacher by the Meriden Board of Education.
Cameron is a 2006 graduate of Foothill Technology High School, Ventura, Calif. In 2010, he received his bachelor’s degree in history and Anthropology from University of California, San Diego, Calif. In 2012, he earned his master’s degree in archaeological science from Durham University, U.K., where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in Ancient Roman Animal Husbandry.
Clarissa and Cameron met abroad in Durham, England.
The couple has plans to honeymoon in Northern Europe to view the aurora Borealis. They currently reside in Meriden.
