Community Cultural Arts to draw winning raffle ticket

Southington Community Cultural Arts will draw the winning ticket for its $25,000 Rooms For Us/Rooms For You fundraiser at a celebratory gala Sunday, Feb. 9, at Pilgrim Furniture. All tickets holders are invited with a guest to attend this complimentary event.

The gala will be hosted by Better Connecticut co-host Scot Haney and will feature signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and a live auction.

The Rooms For Us/Rooms For You fundraiser is part of the SCCA’s capital campaign to raise funds to renovate the historic downtown Gura Building into a community cultural arts center. The building will be renovated into a teaching, exhibiting and performing arts facility and will feature classroom and studio space, an art gallery, black box theatre, retail art supply store, soundproof music studio and more.

Non-ticket holders are encouraged to attend the event and are invited to either purchase a ticket at the door, or consider making a donation of any amount. The evening’s entertainment will include live music by Southington High School’s Jazz Quartet, antics with Valentine the Clown, live painting, potter and various interactive arts stations.

Live auction items include a one-week stay at an Outer Banks vacation home that sleeps 18, a Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Special ll Electric guitar, dinner for eight at Smokin’ with Chris, a birthday party package featuring Valentine the Clown and an opportunity to have a large-scale mural painted on a local business or residential structure.

Tickets are still available and are tax-deductible. Winners need not be present to win and the winning ticket can be redeemed at any Pilgrim Furniture in the state. Call Mary DeCroce at (860) 621-6143 to purchase tickets today.
