The Long Journey Home for Albert Afraid of Hawk

Nicholas Bellatoni, Connecticut State Archaelogist, enthralled to Castle Craig Adult Learning Center members with the story of Albert Afraid Of Hawk, a Lakota Sioux, who died in Danbury, in June 1900, while performing with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. He was buried in an unmarked grave, a forgotten man. His relatives asked for his body be returned to them and after a search the body was located and was exhumed in August 2012.
