CHESHIRE - With the help of two underage youths, police and state Liquor Control Commission agents tested 12 town businesses, seven of which allowed the youths to buy alcohol without checking their ages.

Those seven businesses will face fines of at least $800 and the revocation of their liquor permits for a few days.

"We've been very upfront with the community that we're not going to tolerate underage drinking," said Police Lt. Jay Markella. "We have to be proactive at all the angles."
