SOUTHINGTON - For years the Water Department has operated entirely separate from the rest of the town government. Decisions have been made through the Board of Water Commissioners with little oversight from the Town Council or town manager.

The Charter Revision Commission will determine tonight whether this is the best practice or if changes should be made to help streamline water department functions moving forward.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 75 Main St. The meeting is open to the public.
